We are grateful that the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee supported our second English Learning Day on 9 December by bringing the Olympism Carnival to our school. P. 4-6 students participated in the game booths and learnt a lot about the Olympic values. Our principal, Mr Ma, kicked off the ceremony in the morning. The English Ambassadors also assisted other students at the game booths. In the end, it ended with laughter and lots of souvenirs!
Our school’s advisory teacher, Mr. Wall, along with our native English teacher, Mrs. Presley hosted a school-based professional development workshop for English teachers on 24th November, 2022. The workshop focused on how to develop higher order thinking skills in students’ learning. Teachers were presented with different ideas to support the development of higher order thinking skills and then had an opportunity to develop their own lesson ideas. Small groups of teachers worked together to create activities for lessons and then shared their ideas. It was so encouraging to see how creative our English teachers are!
